We used Halfords Portable Gas Stove and Camping Gas Cartridge. You can find all Halford camping cooking equipment here https://www.halfords.com/camping/cooking-equipment/
Lighting
Illuminate the Night. Lighting is more important when we are camping with Kids. and also these days we all have flashers in our phones when necessary. But we recommend having small Headlamps, lanterns, or portable lights since it would be vital to have for safe and convenient nighttime activities. We used our mobile phone flashers as well as small lanterns to illuminate the tent and it was important when we were playing card games inside the tent.
First Aid Kit
Safety First. Be prepared for minor injuries with a first aid kit. Customize it based on your family’s needs, and don’t forget any necessary medications.
Backpacks.
Carry Your World. Comfortable backpacks are crucial for day hikes and exploring the surroundings. Find ones with proper support and ample space for essentials and you should consider the gross weight of the backpack and be mindful to choose a light backpack.
Navigation Tools.
Find Your Way. Yeah, we all have digital GPS devices and we can use Google/Apple or any other digital map. But..be mindful that you may not have network coverage to use your digital map unless you download the offline map. But what do you think of keeping digital devices aside and giving some work to our / especially our kids’s brains to find the thing on paper maps and use compasses it is important to familiarize yourself with your chosen tools before heading out.
Clothing
Dress for Success. Pack weather-appropriate clothing, including layers for varying temperatures, rain gear, and hiking boots (if needed).
Equipping yourself with the right gear sets the foundation for a seamless camping experience and we believe the above insight about the essential camping gear will help you to plan your next family camping experience more successfully. Camping Tip 2: Choosing the perfect Campsite
Selecting a perfect campsite is an art. First, you need to decide what type of camping you would prefer. Going to wild camping or going to perfect campsite which is well maintained. In our case, we are travelling with family and travelling with our son. so we did not want to try something with extra adventure. so we wanted to go campsite which is well maintained. We used the Pitchup.com website to find our perfect campsite.
Below are a few of the online sources where we can find and book campsites.
- England, France, Wales, Italy, Spain, Scotland, The Netherlands, USA and Canada: Pitchup.com (This site is tried and tested)
- Australia and New Zealand: Campermate.com
